The herpes simplex virus, known as HSV, is a virus that causes genital and oral herpes. It has two types: HSV-1 and HSV-2.

HSV-1: It causes oral herpes.

Oral herpes causes blisters, often known as fever or cold sores, in or around the lips and mouth. These blisters can also appear anywhere on the face or tongue.

HSV-2: It causes genital herpes.

These sores most commonly appear on the penis, inside or around the vagina, the hips, or the anus. Herpes can also cause urination discomfort and changes in vaginal discharge. When a person first develops the sores, they may persist for 2–6 weeks.

Symptoms:
People infected by herpes may first feel tingling, itching, or burning, followed by sores or blisters around the mouth or genitals.

Primary Symptoms:
These occur when a person first becomes infected.

Alongside blisters and sores, herpes can cause pain and itching, swollen lymph nodes, a fever, and tiredness.

Recurring Symptoms:
Recurring symptoms are similar to the primary symptoms, although they are less severe and continue for a shorter period.

Oral herpes symptoms typically persist for 8–10 days during each recurrence. The symptoms of recurrence of genital herpes persist for 8–10 days, and there are fewer lesions than in the initial phase.

Causes:
Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a common virus that causes herpes. It can spread through direct contact.

Infection may develop in the following ways:

· Having vaginal or anal sex without utilizing barrier protection, such as a condom

· Having any other oral or genital contact with a herpes carrier

· Exchanging sex toys

The virus is most infectious between the time when symptoms develop and disappear.

What If Your Partner Has Herpes?
When having a sexual relationship with someone who has herpes, the chances of contracting the infection are never zero. You have the right to be uncomfortable about having sex with your partner again or being sexually intimate for the first time.

But instead of declaring your relationship's sexual part over or out of the question, consider how you might be intimate without risking infection. By avoiding sexual contact during outbreaks, using condoms regularly, and taking suppressive antiviral therapy to prevent herpes, some couples have sexual relationships for years without transmitting herpes.

Herpes is something that many couples cope with successfully.  It is a minor concern for many. Some couples prefer not to use condoms in long-term relationships since herpes does not cause a fatal health concern.

Herpes should not have an impact on your dating or sexual relationships. A partner with herpes needs acceptance and support. Your partner's commitment to telling you about this issue need a lot of courage and shows that they care about your well-being and appreciate your trust.

So, educate yourself more about herpes. You'll discover that it's not as bad as it appears and that even if one partner has herpes, couples may have amazing dating life and sexual relationships. So break the stigma about herpes and live your happy dating life.
