Is there a test for HSV2 when a person has no breakouts to test with?
How are people without the HSV2 to know if they are now positive for the virus, after being with a partner who has the virus? Should they automatically assume they are now positive?

The answer is no , dont assume you have it . If that person was safe and didnt have sex when breaking out , more than likely they didnt transmit the virus

I lived with my girlfriend and wife for 2 years before she came down with it. Ihad told her right after meeting that I had it . I made sure to never be breaking out when we had sex . IT went great til one night ,while I was asleep , she woke up feeling frisky . All I know , is that waking up , the way she woke me up , nothing else is on your mind. Never even felt I was breaking out til the following day.
